Il luogo è ideale
per passeggiate a piedi o a cavallo lungo i numerosi ed antichi sentieri
lasciati dai carbonai, dei quali sono ancora visibili le piazzole dove
veniva fatto il carbone. Secondo le varie stagioni si possono raccogliere
funghi, corbezzoli, more, fiori ed altri prodotti del sottobosco,
incontrare tassi, istrici, cinghiali e caprioli. La notte può offrire un
eccezionale cielo stellato.

Montecalvo è al
centro di una zona etrusca e medioevale ed è quindi un punto di partenza
ideale per visitare luoghi molto interessanti quali: rovine di Castro;
eremi; Vulci; Sovana; Pitigliano; Tarquinia; Cosa; Saturnia e le sue
terme. Gli ospiti che amano viaggiare possono raggiungere Roma, Viterbo,
Orvieto, Siena e Firenze. Le stagioni più piacevoli per il turismo
culturale sono quelle primaverili ed autunnali, mentre in estate
Montecalvo è una comoda residenza per raggiungere il lago di Bolsena e le
spiagge del Tirreno. Montecalvo non ha ristorante, ma nelle vicinanze se
ne trovano di buoni.
The Paths
The location is
ideal for walking or horseback riding on the many ancient paths left by
the coalmen; the places they used to make charcoal are still visible.
Depending on the season, you can pick mushrooms, arbutus berries,
blackberries, flowers, and other products of the under brush. You can
encounter badgers, hedgehogs, wild boars, and roe-bucks. The starry sky at
night is extraordinary.
Historical and Archeological Sites
Montecalvo is located at the center of an Etruscan and medieval area.
An ideal point of departure for visiting historical and archeological
sites, such as the ruins of Castro, Romitori, Vulci, Sovana, Pitigliano,
Tarquinia, Cosa, Tuscania, and Saturnia with its thermal baths. For those
guests who enjoy travelling, Rome, Viterbo, Orvieto, Siena, Perugia and
Florence are within reach. The most pleasant seasons for a cultural
vacation are spring and fall, while Montecalvo in the summertime is a
convenient residence for excursion to Lake Bolsena or the Tyrrhenian Sea
beaches. There is no restaurant at Montecalvo, but many good ones are
nearby.

Wanderwege
Das Anwesen ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für Spaziergänge oder
Ausritte auf den ehemaligen Köhlerstraßen. Die Plätze der Kohlen-meiler
sind auch noch zu erkennen. Je nach Saison kann man Pilze, Meereskirchen
oder Brombeeren sammeln, Blumen und Kräuter pflücken. Man trifft hin und
wieder auf Dachse, Stachel- und Wildschweine, ja sogar Dammwild. In klaren
Nächten hat man einen wunderbaren Blick zum Sternenhimmel.
Historische und archäologische Plätze
Montecalvo liegt im Zentrum eines etruskischen Gebietes, das auch vom
Mittelalter geprägt wurde.
Viele archäologische und historische Stätten kann man besichtigen: die
Ruinen der ehemaligen Stadt Castro, frühere Einsiedeleien, Vulci, Sovana,
Pitigliano, Tarquinia, Cosa, Tuscania und Saturnia mit seinen
Thermen.Gäste die gerne Ausflüge unternehmen, können bequem Rom,
Viterbo, Siena, Orvieto, Perugia und Florenz erreichen. Die geeignetsten
Jahreszeiten sind Frühling und Herbst, während im Sommer Montecalvo eine
geeignete Residenz ist, um zum Lago di Bolsena oder an die Strände des
Tyrrhenischen Meeres zu gelangen, oder das hauseigene schwimmbad zu nutzen.
Das Anwesen hat kein Restaurant, aber in seiner Umgebung gibt es mehrere
Möglichkeiten gut zu essen.
